5. Legal basis for processing

Depending on the circumstances and the law that applies, processing may rely on:

  • consent
  • performance of a contract, or steps requested before entering into a contract
  • compliance with a legal obligation
  • legitimate interests, where permitted
  • protection of vital interests, where legally applicable
  • other lawful grounds recognised by applicable law

Where consent is required, it must be freely given, specific, informed and capable of being withdrawn. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before the withdrawal.

6. Financial data and sensitive information

Financial information can be highly confidential, and BEGƏW treats it accordingly. Users should upload only information they are authorised to provide.

Users should never upload:

  • passwords or authentication secrets

BEGƏW will never ask users to provide passwords or payment-card security codes through ordinary support channels.

7. Automated processing and intelligent features

BEGƏW uses automated rules, calculations and algorithms to classify transactions, identify possible duplicates, suggest categories and accounts, identify possible matches, highlight anomalies, propose budgets, generate financial insights, calculate ratios and produce Pulse and Financial Health information.

These outputs are suggestions and estimates. They are not infallible, and authorised users remain responsible for reviewing and approving accounting information.

Where a decision produced by automated means could materially affect a person and applicable law provides rights in relation to automated decision-making, that person may contact us at the address in section 14 to obtain information and to request human review.

8. How we share information

DGV Group Ltd discloses information only where appropriate and lawful, which may include disclosure to:

  • authorised employees and administrators

Service providers receive only the information necessary for the service they provide and are subject to appropriate confidentiality and security obligations.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not allow third parties to use customer financial data for unrelated advertising.

9. Payment providers

Subscription payments may be processed through third-party payment partners, including mobile-money and card partners. BEGƏW may receive transaction and payment-status information from those providers.

Sensitive payment credentials are handled by the authorised payment provider. BEGƏW does not store card numbers or card security codes. The applicable provider's own terms and privacy notice apply to the payment itself and are shown or linked at the point of payment.

10. Data transfers

BEGƏW relies on cloud infrastructure and service providers, and information may therefore be processed or hosted in Cameroon or in other countries, depending on the infrastructure and providers used. We do not claim that all data is stored in Cameroon.

Where personal data is transferred outside Cameroon or another applicable jurisdiction, DGV Group Ltd implements the safeguards, contractual arrangements, authorisations or notices required by applicable law.

11. Data security

DGV Group Ltd implements technical and organisational safeguards proportionate to the risks, which include, where applicable:

  • backups
  • secure development practices and vulnerability management
  • incident response
  • secure handling of credentials and secrets

No internet service can guarantee absolute security. We do not claim that BEGƏW is impossible to compromise, and we hold no security certification unless expressly stated.

  • other legitimate business purposes permitted by law

Different categories of information may have different retention periods. Where a company or other workspace is closed, its records are retained for the period required by applicable accounting and tax obligations and by any deletion request process available in the application, after which they are deleted or anonymised.

We cannot promise immediate deletion of information that must lawfully be retained.

13. Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • be informed about how your data is processed
  • access your personal data

  • object to processing, where applicable
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent
  • receive your data in a portable form, where applicable
  • rights concerning automated processing, where applicable
  • lodge a complaint with the competent data-protection authority

20. Governing framework
